We have entered into an "associates" agreement with Amazon. This means that if you click one of the book ads and buy the listed book from Amazon, we get a percentage of the purchase price. Our hope is that this will offset the fees we pay to typepad.com. We have also signed up for Google ads, again in the hope that any revenue gained from them will offset the fees we pay for this site.
Privacy:
In general, TypePad collects general user statistics. These statistics let us know how many people looked at the site, what pages they looked at, where they clicked from, but not who you are.
Note that Google and Amazon may also be collecting data from the users of this site, especially if you click their links (but possibly otherwise as well). See their respective privacy policies for more information on this.
If you choose to leave a comment at the site, the information you provide may be displayed publicly in the comments section on the related post. While we will not specifically distribute your personal information, it becomes publicly available. We will usually not contact you about your comments unless some clarification is necessary or if we wish to discuss the comment/suggestion, etc., further.
Exception: If you leave your name and # (email address, etc.) on our Looking for School Options for your loved one with FASD? [Edmonton] page, we will not post your # or email address but will keep them on a separate list of people who are interested in better education options so that we can keep you informed of developments, email you about meetings, etc. This means that we might email or telephone you about relevant education-related items. We will use BCC (blind carbon copy) when emailing to more than one person. However, there may be times when the list of names (and other details) is shared with others who are working to provide better education options for our children.
