Description:
"This workshop is for those who are engaged in the everyday life of those with FASD. The first two days will focus on skills training in motivating the client and organizing a client-centered plan to achieve his/her personally meaningful goals. This training takes into account the difficulties that clients with executive function deficits have with memory, self-regulation, generalization of learning, self-monitoring, planning and producing socially appropriate behaviours. The final two days of training will be provided in direct consultation format for selected difficult and challenging cases. Participants will have an opportunity to see these presenters develop creative and practical solutions to help caregivers/service providers work effectively with impaired clients. The final half day will be devoted to discussion of future projects where we as a community can apply what we have learned."
