Description:
"Kananaskis Country has earned a reputation of ensuring equal access to this beautiful mountain environment by people of all abilities.
Nestled within the scenic mountains of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park (Kananaskis Country, Alberta), the William Watson Lodge provides year-round accommodation for Albertans with disabilities as well as senior citizens of Alberta who are 65 years and older. Overlooking the beautiful Lower Kananaskis Lake, the facility is composed of a main lodge for day use, twenty-two accessible cabins, six vehicle campsites, and six walk-in tenting sites.
William Watson Lodge primarily serves people that may not be able to utilize the more traditional types of services found in mountainous environments. Not only does "The Lodge" provide accessible accommodation, but it also plays an integral role in the development of barrier-free outdoor facilities throughout all of Kananaskis Country. Reservations may be made up to four months in advance for persons with disabilities residing in the province of Alberta. Forms to determine eligibility may be obtained from William Watson Lodge."
